| Bio: | I guess you can call me a writer wannabe. I have a BA in English with a writing emphasis from the University of San Francisco and my teaching credential. I don't use either degree, though I did teach for several years after grad school. Currently a mom to my beautiful baby girl. I started writing again after ten years of absolutely nothing. I wrote a ton as a kid, mostly poetry and a few stories. There were only two things I wanted to be growing up...a marine biologist (um no, college science and math killed that dream) and an author. Why didn't I pursue my writing dreams? Life. Still hope to become an author. Nickname: Care. A select few have been known to call me Carebear. And a lot of school friends called me "C" and I still sign emails that way often. Favorite Book: As I Lay Dying by Faulkner Favorite tv show: House Favorite movie: Lord of the Rings trilogy Favorite color: Teal Favorite Place: Alaska, I could visit it forever and a day and never get bored. Favorite thing: The ocean, without a doubt. Favorite memories: White water rafting in Alaska, 4 wheeling in the shadow of Mt. McKinley in Alaska, taking a helicopter up to the Mendenhall Glacier outside of Juneau, Alaska and drinking from a fresh water stream while on the glacier, watching the "Giselle" ballet in St. Petersburg Russia, visiting the ship museum in Norway, the ice bar in Sweden, walking the same streets my great grandfather once did in Denmark, touring the Tower of London, the churches and cobblestone streets of Estonia, touring the rock church in Finland, kayaking in Key West, swimming with sting rays in Grand Cayman, climbing the waterfall in Jamaica, watching women carry baskets on their heads in Guatemala, and all the places I've seen in the US. Hence my name...travlncarrie. Hate to fly, but I LOVE to visit new places. Goals: To visit all the states, to become an author in some way, shape or form, to be a good mom and to take my daughter kayaking in Alaska some day. Places I'd like to visit: Australia/New Zealand, Egypt, Africa, I'd love to go back to London and really tour it properly, Spain (where my grandfather was raised), Greece, oh my goodness...too many places to list. None of my stories contain smut. There might be hints of things here and there but no explicit smut. It's just not what I like to write...to each their own. I hold nothing against those who do write it. I just know I'd be horrible at writing it. I don't use beta readers, so all the mistakes are my own. * If you're looking for sugary sweet endings, you've come to the wrong place. I will occasionally write a happy ending but I prefer the ansty, drama filled sort. | |||||||
